Benton at 3

I have been a horrible blogger for over a year now and I keep making attempts to get back to it without success. It is however the only written record that I have been keeping of our little families life. It is already the middle of June and I couldn't let any more time pass without taking a minute to write about our special little Benton who turned 3 at the end of May. We had a really fun week celebrating Benton's birthday. We actually had a chance to go on our first family camping trip with Rylan(thanks to Gary and Kathi who let us borrow their trailer). We stayed in Kodachrome Basin which for anyone who doesn't know where that is- it is in the middle of Bryce and Escalante. The boys loved riding bikes and playing around the campground with their friends that were there. The trip was already planned for us when we decided to go and everything on the itinerary was awesome. There were a couple of family hikes including slot canyons, and a really fun family bike ride. We loved camping with the trailer. And, Benton especially loved being able to camp for his birthday trip. On Bentons actual birthday he decided to go to the classic fun center to play on the inflatables and in the pirates cove. Then he chose pizza for dinner. Benton loves bread sticks and pizza. It is sometimes surprising how much of it that he can eat. Benton got a cars bike for his birthday and he was so excited to get a new big boy bike. He is always so appreciative too. He is always thankful for what he has and what he gets and he very rarely asks for anything or more. It is a great quality that he has. We had his family party on Sunday and everyone came over to have cake and ice cream. Benton chose to have a spiderman cake. He is in the super hero's stage right now and so anything with Spiderman or Batman is the best. It was a great week and he is such a good boy. We are so thankful to have Benton in our family. He is our talker- he is constantly talking from the time he wakes up in the morning until he falls asleep at night. And we love it. He is also our little helper. Anytime we ask Benton to do something he does it right when we ask and as fast as he can. He can go fetch toilet paper faster than anyone I have seen. He helps so much with getting things for Rylan. And he is always helping Jacks with whatever he wants him to do. I will ask Jackson to do something and he just asks Benton to do it and Benton does. Benton is also very kind and complimentary. The other day when I had just gotten ready for church he said," Mom you look beautiful are you going to a princess ball." Every mom loves to hear things like that. He is a great sharer. He will share anything he has if someone else wants it. He also gives us random hugs and tells us that he loves us. At 3 he is so much fun. After 2 years of trying he is finally starting to be able to keep up with the big boys. He is also really smart and I am not just saying that because everyone thinks that their kids are smart. He really is, he knows things that 3 year olds don't usually know like all of the birthdays of everyone in our family. And, because he has been in the middle I haven't spent alot of time one on one with him teaching him things. He just picks it up himself. He loves water and mud and has to bath every night because he is so dirty by the end of the day. He loves his pajamas and we always know when he is tired because he goes and puts them on even if it is just lunch time. Speaking of food, fruits and vegetables are always his choice. He asks for carrots when he is hungry. Cucumbers are his favorite thing to eat for some reason- he eats a whole cucumber at a time and we can't complain about that. We honestly can't complain about much when it comes to Benton. We all love him so much and we are thankful everyday that he is in our family. We hope he had a happy 3rd birthday. I know that he all enjoyed celebrating it with him.
